Hello out there in Internet land.

My name is Greg Johns. My wonderful wife Wanda and I live in a small home in the little town of Fremont, Ohio which is thirty five miles east of Toledo.

Several years ago I decided to reactivate my wood working skills learned long ago in high school shop class. Oh how long ago! I was looking for a retirement activity that I enjoy and maybe make a little extra money.

We had some space in the back yard so I built a shop and equiped it with all the essential tools I always wanted (OH BOY WHAT FUN!). Because I wanted to make unique pieces, I knew the lathe would be my main focus. I bought a  Oneway lathe and started turning pieces.

The pieces I specialize in are usable platters and bowls of various designes, art pieces, vases, pens, banks, bread knives, cutting boards and other unique gifts.

I use both domestic and exotic woods. All the bowls , platters and art pieces are signed .

The usable pieces are all food safe finished. They are finished with a walnut based oil and a walnut based wax. The cutting boards are finished with a food safe cutting board oil. All items can be rejuvinated with walnut oil purchased at the grocery store.

The turned banks I make are unique. The doors are old U.S. Post Office box fronts from the 1950's and before.  My banks are turned from a solid piece of log. I use Oak, Maple, Black Walnut and other domestic  woods.
