These are pictures of some of the Pepper Grinders that I make. They are all laminated hard wood and turned on a lathe. Most of the wood I use is from local domestic trees. I do use some exocitic wood like Redhart, Wenge, Purplehart, Blood Wood, Zebra Wood, and others. I make grinders with either verticle or horizontal laminations. I also make them from solid wood pieces. The pictures of grinders below show the various styles.
The grinding mechanisim in my grinders is ceramic made in Belgium. With a ceramic grinder you can grind either sea salt or pepper or both. This grinder will not put metal shavings in your salad like the older type grinders with the adjustment knob on the top. The adjustment knob on these grinders is on the bottom as the pictures show. To fill the grinder just pull the top off, dump the pepper in, put the top back on and grind away.
